6. Starter relay

SDisconnect the starter relay from the cou- pler.

S Connect the pocket tester (1) and bat- tery (12 V) to the starter relay terminals as shown.

Battery positive terminal ! red/white 1 Battery negative terminal !

Tester positive probe ! red 3 Tester negative probe ! black 4

SDoes the starter relay have continuity be- tween red and black?

YESNO

Replace the starter relay.

8. Engine stop switch

SCheck the engine stop switch for continuity. Refer to “CHECKING THE SWITCHES”.

SIs the engine stop switch OK?

Replace the right handlebar switch.
