sure the water temperature with an accurate thermometer since the tolerance of water- regulating devices varies.

41.The causes, symptoms and effects of hyper- thermia may be described as follows: Hyperthermia occurs when the internal tem- perature of the body reaches a level of sever- al degrees above the normal body tempera- ture of 98.6ûF. The symptoms of hyperthermia include an increase in the internal tempera- ture of the body, dizziness, lethargy, drowsi- ness and fainting. The effects of hyperther- mia include failure to perceive heat; failure to recognize the need to exit the spa or hot tub; unawareness of impending hazard; fetal damage in pregnant women; physical inabili- ty to exit the spa or hot tub and uncon- sciousness resulting in danger of drowning. WARNING: The use of alcohol, drugs or med- ication can greatly increase the risk of fatal hyperthermia.
