SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES

nDo not use near underground electric cables, telephone lines, pipes, or hoses. If in doubt, contact your utility or telephone company to locate underground services.

nIf the unit strikes a foreign object, stop the engine, dis- connect the spark plug, thoroughly inspect the machine for any damage, and repair the damage before restarting and operating the machine.

nNever leave the operating position when the engine is running.

nStop the engine and disconnect the spark plug before unclogging the tines and when making any repairs, ad- justments, or inspections.

nDo not overload the machine capacity by cultivating too deep in a single pass or at too fast a rate.

nBe aware that the equipment may unexpectedly bounce upward or jump forward if the tines should strike buried obstacles such as large stones, roots, or stumps.

nNever operate the equipment on a slope.

nUse extreme caution when pulling the machine towards you.

nStart the engine carefully according to instructions from a normal operating position and with feet well away from the tines.

REFUELING

nFuel is highly flammable. Take precautions when using to reduce the chance of serious personal injury.

nStore fuel in a cool, well-ventilated area, safely away from spark and/or flame-producing equipment.

nStore fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose.

nOnly refuel outdoors and do not smoke while refueling.

nAdd fuel before starting the engine. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel while the engine is running or when the engine is hot.

nIf fuel is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but move the machine away from the area of spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition until fuel vapors have dissipated.

nReplace all fuel tank and container caps securely.

nWhen draining the fuel tank, use an approved fuel storage container while in a well-ventilated area.
