Calibration ensures that output levels correspond to THX refer- ence levels (75dB) for input sources such as DVDs.

Eliminate extraneous noises in the listening space such as con- versations, air conditioners, and sounds that filter in through open doors and windows.

Remove objects (including people) that obstruct the line-of- sight path between the SPL meter and the speaker being mea- sured.

Output levels should be calibrated to be consistent from the primary listening position. Place the SPL meter at the approxi- mate spot where the listener’s head will be during listening.

All output levels should be adjusted to achieve a 75dB SPL meter reading from the primary listening position.

Activate the Test Tone for the associated analog audio output connector.

Set the Screen Saver to Off. Test Tones automatically mute when the Lexicon screen saver appears on the on-screen dis- play.
