Belts squeal in neutral and/or reverse | 1. Adjust forward belt guide: | |
| - turn engine off and allow muffler to cool | |
| - disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug | |
| - remove belt guard | |
| - pull down on drive control levers | |
| - manually bend forward belt guide so there is 1/16 | |
| inch or less clearance between belt guide and belt | |
| - replace belt guard and spark plug wire | |

Belts squeal in forward operation | 1. Adjust tabs on the reverse belt guide | |
| - turn engine off and allow muffler to cool | |
| - disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug | |
| - release drive control levers to neutral | |
| - remove belt guard | |
| - adjust tabs of reverse belt guide: | |
| while drive control levers are released, bend metal | |
| tabs on reverse belt guide to 1/64 inch or less | |
| clearance from reverse belt | |
| - replace belt guard and spark plug wire | |
