Woods Equipment SS108-2 Shear Bolts Operating Requirements, Adjusting Discharge Chute Position

Page 14

3.Before going to the work site, review "Transporting" section, page 15.

4.Position snowblower in a level area and lower into working position.

5.Starting Snowblower:

Be sure area is clear of all bystanders.

Run engine at low idle.

Slowly engage PTO control to start machine.

Slowly bring engine to rated PTO speed. Never exceed rated speed

6.Stopping Machine:

Slowly decrease engine speed to low idle.

Wait until PTO drive and snowblower have slowed to low engine idle speed before disengag- ing PTO drive.

„Before dismounting power unit or performing any service or maintenance, follow these steps: disengage power to equipment, lower the 3-point hitch and all raised components to the ground, operate valve levers to release any hydraulic pres- sure, set parking brake, stop engine, remove key, and unfasten seat belt.

„Before performing any service or maintenance, disconnect driveline from tractor PTO.

7.Do not operate with bystanders in area. The machine can pick up stones, sticks, wire and other debris and throw it out with enough force to cause severe injury or death to bystanders. Shut down machine and wait for moving parts to stop before approaching machine.

8.Ground Speed: Travel speed can vary between 1.5 and 8 mph depending on material and terrain con- ditions. It is the responsibility of the operator to note the condition of the job being done and set the speed to obtain proper feeding rate and maintain safe control of machine.

9.The PTO driveline is equipped with a shear bolt, Figure 7, that protects drive system components from shock loads if machine strikes an obstruction. See parts section for bolt size and grade.

10.Operating Requirements:

„Never direct discharge toward people, animals, or property.

A.Know where you are operating. Remove all unwanted trash and debris before starting. It can wrap around auger or be thrown out of machine during operation.

B.Keep auger and fan in good condition. Do not operate with a damaged fan or auger.

C.Do not allow the auger to hit and scalp ground during operation. Hitting ground will pick up soil or rocks that can be thrown out of machine.

D.To change direction of snow discharge, rotate the discharge chute. It will rotate 200°. It will not rotate a full 360°.

NOTE: For hydraulic rotator, if chute turns too quickly, adjust flow control on tractor hydraulics. NOTE: Operating hydraulic deflector cylinder requires low tractor flow rates. When initially oper- ating cylinder reduce tractor hydraulic flow rate to prevent deflector damage and improve resolution of deflector adjustment.

Adjusting Discharge Chute Position

The height of snow discharge is controlled by position of chute deflector on discharge chute (8), Figure 8. Remove clevis pin (5), and slide adjust- ment strap (9) to selected discharge height. Rein- stall clevis pin (5).

NOTE: If possible, blow snow with the wind. Beware of people or buildings in the area.

SS108-2, SS96-2, SS84-2 specifications

Woods Equipment is renowned for its commitment to producing high-quality agricultural machinery, and the SS series of rotary finish mowers is no exception. The SS96-2, SS108-2, and SS84-2 models reflect the brand's dedication to performance and efficiency, making them an optimal choice for maintaining lawns, parks, and golf courses.

The SS96-2 features a cutting width of 96 inches, providing an efficient mowing solution for larger properties. It incorporates a robust, heavy-duty construction that ensures durability and longevity. The design includes three cutting decks, which promote an even cut and help in managing a variety of grass types. With a reliable two-blade system on each deck, the mower delivers a clean, professional finish, while the adjustable mower heights allow operators to tailor the cut to their specific needs.

The SS108-2 takes things a step further with an impressive 108-inch cutting width, making it suitable for vast expanses of terrain. This model features advanced technologies such as the three-point hitch system, which simplifies connection to tractors and allows for easy maneuverability across uneven ground. Similar to the SS96-2, it utilizes three blades per deck, making quick work of tall grass and thick underbrush. Additionally, this model includes a shielded design to minimize debris pickup and promote operator safety.

For those looking for a more compact choice, the SS84-2 with an 84-inch width is ideal for smaller properties or tighter spaces. Despite its size, the SS84-2 does not compromise on power or performance. It features the same three-blade system and adjustable height settings, ensuring a quality cut. The compact size facilitates easier navigation through tight spots, making it a versatile addition to any landscaping toolkit.

Another key characteristic of these rotary finish mowers is their emphasis on operator comfort. Each model is designed with user-friendly controls and ergonomic features, making operation more enjoyable and less strenuous over long periods. Moreover, all three mowers have effective maneuverability, allowing operators to complete tasks efficiently and with precision.

In conclusion, the Woods Equipment SS96-2, SS108-2, and SS84-2 models stand out for their exceptional cutting capabilities, durable construction, and user-friendly designs. Whether for large estates or smaller lawns, Woods Equipment's SS series offers range, efficiency, and versatility to meet diverse mowing needs.
