Cerwin-Vega! TS-42 Folded Horn
3.BEFORE YOU BEGIN: SAFETY AND CARE FOR YOUR TS-42 FOLDED HORN
The TS-42 is designed for portable applications in which the speaker will be stacked directly on the floor, stage, or on a stable platform. Cerwin-Vega! Professional does not support suspension for the TS-42. Moisture can damage the speaker cone and surround and cause corrosion of electrical contacts. Avoid exposing the TS-42 to direct moisture. Keep the TS-42 out of extended or intense direct sunlight. The driver suspension will prematurely dry out and finished surfaces may be degraded by long-term exposure to intense ultra-violet (UV) light.
The TS-42 can generate considerable acoustic energy. When placed on a slippery surface such as polished wood or linoleum, the speaker may move due to its acoustical energy output. Precautions should be taken to assure that the speaker does not fall off a stage or platform on which it is placed.
The TS-42 includes a receptacle cup to allow mounting speakers on top of the subwoofer using a qualified speaker pole.
Cerwin-Vega! also provides integrated accessories that create system solutions for easy setup and tear down. The Cerwin-Vega! reinforced speaker pole (CVPOLE-1A) provides excellent support for any top speaker box that is compatible with industry standard 35 mm pole cups.
The Cerwin-Vega! CVANT-2A dual mount speaker system (along with the CVPOLE-1A speaker pole) provides the ability to elevate two CVA-28 full range active speakers on top of each subwoofer. For more information on these accessories or system configurations please visit us at: www.cerwin-vega.com.
When using speaker poles and accessories, please read carefully all documentation and observe the following precautions:
•Check the stand, pole, and accessories specifications to be certain they are designed to support the weight of the speaker or speakers.
•Observe all safety precautions specified by the accessories manufacturer.
•Always verify that the Cerwin-Vega! subwoofer is placed on a flat, level, and stable surface that can also support the entire weight of your system configuration.
•Route cables so that performers, production crew, and audience will not trip over them pulling the speaker over.
•Do not attempt to place more than one speaker on a pole designed for a single speaker.
•Always be cautious in windy, outdoor conditions.
•Unless you are confident that you can handle the weight of the speaker, ask another person to help you get it onto the pole and/or subwoofer.
Caution The TS-42 Folded Horn is capable of generating sound pressure levels (SPL) sufficient to cause permanent hearing damage to performers, production crew, and audience members. Caution should be taken to avoid prolonged exposure to SPL in excess of 90 dB.
