6.If prompted, insert the original Windows OS CD. If the autorun launches when you insert the CD, close it. The Windows Components Wizard will automatically detect and install the necessary files.

7.Click Finish.

Uninstalling the LANDesk Software Agent

If the Core Server has LANDesk agents on it from a previous Management Suite release, it will fail the autorun prerequisite check. You must remove the old agents by running uninstallwinclient.exe from the \Program Files\LANDesk\ ManagementSuite folder.

Using the Configuration/Setup Utility program

The Configuration/Setup Utility program is part of the BIOS. You can use it to perform the following tasks:

vView configuration information

vView and change assignments for devices and I/O ports

vSet the date and time

vSet and change passwords

vSet and change the startup characteristics of the server and the order of startup devices (startup-drive sequence)

vSet and change settings for advanced hardware features

vView and clear the event and error logs

vChange interrupt request (IRQ) settings

vResolve configuration conflicts

To start the Configuration/Setup Utility program, complete the following steps:

1.Turn on the server.

2.When the message Press F1 for Configuration/Setup is displayed, press F1. If an administrator password has been set, you must type the administrator password to access the full Configuration/Setup Utility menu.

3.Follow the instructions on the screen.

Using the LSI Logic Configuration Utility program

Use the LSI Logic Configuration Utility program to configure hot-swap hard disk drives that are connected to the SAS/SATA controller.

Important:

vIf the server is a simple-swap SATA model that contains a SATA RAID back plate, you can use the LSI Logic Configuration Utility program to configure the simple-swap SATA hard disk drives.

vIf you install an optional RAID controller in the server, such as the ServeRAID-MR10i controller, use the configuration software that comes with the adapter to configure the hard disk drives.

To start the LSI Logic Configuration Utility program, complete the following steps:
