Overview

Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) is a bi-directional print data stream defined by IBM®. IPDS is a sequence of information transmitted between a host computer and IPDS printer as directed by a print driver, such as IBM’s Print Service Facility (PSF). In addition to delivering print description information, the IPDS data stream performs printer control functions and shares job status information.

The Xerox FreeFlow® Print Server IPDS software is configured by means of a Graphical User Interface (GUI), featuring pull-down menus, tabs, and icons from which to manage the Xerox FreeFlow Print Server IPDS functions. Xerox FreeFlow Print Server IPDS supports the TCP/IP and Online Channel interfaces.
