Useful OS X Applications

TextEdit – Text editor

Can be found in: /Applications/TextEdit

Disk Utility – OS X disk repair / formatting tool

Can be found in: /Applications/Utilities/DiskUtility

Console – Allows user to see application logs in real-time

Can be found in: /Applications/Utilities/Console

Finder – Standard file viewer (similar to Windows Explorer)

Terminal – Terminal application which allows a user to send Unix based commands Can be found in: /Applications/Utilities/Terminal

Kextstat grep ATTO – Shows which ATTO Fibre Channel driver is loaded into memory (key info)

Apple System Profiler – System utility which will output a file with useful system info (processor type, RAM installed, OS version, driver versions, application versions, logs, etc.)
