Introduction

Optional HSIM and VHSIM

The modules provide a slot for an optional High Speed Interface Module (HSIM) or Very High Speed Interface Module (VHSIM) for additional connectivity to various networking technologies. The Release Notes that are shipped with the product list exceptions to the HSIMs and VHSIMs that operate in the modules.

LANVIEW diagnostic LEDs serve as an important troubleshooting aid by providing an easy way to observe the status of individual ports and overall network operations.

Year 2000 Compliance

The 9H531-17 and 9H532-17 modules and the SmartSwitch 9000 chassis have an internal clock that can maintain the time and date beyond the year 1999.
