Step 16 Click the Finish button to restart the computer and complete the installation.

When the system returns to proper operation, verify that the adapter port LEDs operate as described in the GigaNIX LED activity table in this manual. The GigaNIX installation on your Windows NT platform is now complete.

4.4Software Installation on Linux

These instructions presume that you are running Red Hat Linux 6.x or a similar OS. You should be using at least a kernel version 2.2.12 Installation for any other Red Hat-based system will be similar. For Debian-based systems, the location of some files will be different.

Installing the driver

To install the driver, copy the driver files to an appropriate directory:

$ mkdir giganix

 

$ cd giganix

 

$ cp /mnt/floppy/linux/*

.

To create a new driver object module:

$ make
