Chapter 3. Macintosh Software Installation
Once the hardware has been installed and the GigaNIX Gigabit adapter is connected to the network, it is time to install the software. Software drivers must be properly installed for the Gigabit Ethernet adapter to function.
3.1Installing the GigaNIX Mac OS8 or 9 Software Driver
Before you begin, make sure your system contains enough RAM for the proper functioning of your adapter. If you need assistance, refer to Section 1.3 for the Macintosh system requirements information.

Note: | Before launching the GigaNIX installer application, make sure no other |
| applications are running. This ensures a smooth installation process, |
| and avoids possible damage to files and applications left running |
| during the installation. |
Step 2 Launch the GigaNIX Installer application by double clicking on the GigaNIX installer icon to begin the install process.
