General Settings

With the highlight line on the word GENERAL, press [Enter]. The General Settings window appears (see Figure 11).

From this screen you can do the following:

Security

The OSD offers an advanced password security system made up of three different security levels. Each security level has its own access rights.

These levels are as follows:

Administrator (Status A)

The Administrator can:

Set and modify all Passwords and security profiles

Get full access to any computer

Use all OSD functions

Supervisor (Status S)

The Supervisor can:

Get full access to any computer

Access the following OSD functions:

- F4 Scan, F5 Tune and F6 Moving the Confirmation label

User (Status U)

You can set up six different Users in the KVM system. Each User has its own Profile set by the Administrator, which defines the access level to different computers. There are three different access levels.

Activating Password Protection

The factory default setting for the OSD access is to have it not password protected. Only the Administrator can password-protect the OSD or disable it.

To password protect the OSD:

1.Go to the Security line in the General Settings window.

2.Toggle between Security On and Off using the space bar.

3.Type the Administrator's password (default is "admin") into the Password Box and Press [Enter].

4.The new security status is set.
