This chapter explains how to connect the supplied indoor FM antenna and how to connect commercially available outdoor FM antenna.

The TX-L55 won’t pick up any radio signals without any antenna connected, so you must connect the antenna to use the tuner.

If you cannot achieve good reception with the supplied indoor FM antenna, try a commercially available out- door FM antenna instead.

Notes:

Outdoor FM antennas work best outside, but usable results can sometimes be obtained when installed in an attic or loft.

For best results, install the outdoor FM antenna well away from tall buildings, preferably with a clear line of sight to the transmitter.

Outdoor antenna should be located away from pos- sible noise sources, such as neon signs, busy roads, etc.

For safety reasons, outdoor antenna should be situated well away from power lines and other high-voltage equipment.

Outdoor antenna must be grounded in accordance with local regulations to prevent electrical shock hazards.
