IDENTIFYING EXTERNAL

COMPONENTS

This chapter describes the front panel, rear panel, optional plug-in modules, and LED indicators of the Switch.

Front Panel

The front panel of the Switch consists of LED indicators for power and for each port, an RS-232 communication port, 16 (DES-1218) or 24 (DES-1226) 10/100 Mbps twisted-pair ports and a slot for installing an optional 2 port Gigabit Ethernet module.
