Troubleshooting
The troubleshooting section is used as a guide to understanding the capabilities of the CrystalView and for general troubleshooting. If you have any problems or questions concerning the installation, operation or usage of the CrystalView that is not covered in this manual, please contact Rose Electronics for technical support.
PC boots with no error messages but keyboard does not work.
nCable is loose;
nKeyboard and mouse cables reversed.
nTry a different model of keyboard. If the new keyboard works, the original one may not be compatible. Some older auto- sensing keyboards may not work with this product.
Wrong or missing characters from those typed.
nThe keyboard may be in the wrong mode. Reset the keyboard.
nPower down and reboot the system.
PC always comes up with a keyboard error message at boot.
nIf the system appears to work fine after pressing F1 or ESC, adjust your BIOS setup so that the PC does not test the keyboard.
Connecting a keyboard to the Unit affects video.
nChange to a newer keyboard. Some older model keyboards require a current higher than that supplied by the CrystalView.
nInstall a supplemental power supply to the keyboard connector on the Local Unit. See Appendix C for part number.
PS/2 cursor appears on the screen, but mouse doesn’t work.
nReset the mouse. (See Table 4)
nCable is loose,
nTry a different model of mouse.
nPower off and on the Remote Unit
Mouse movement is erratic.
nReset the keyboard and mouse. (See Table 4)
nIssue a Null Mouse Command (up to 3 times), (See Table 5)
nReload the application and/or reboot the PC. If this problem persists call Rose Electronics technical support.
