About Seagate Wireless Plus Wi-Fi Security

Since your Seagate Wireless Plus device is a wireless broadcasting device, it can be “seen” by any Wi-Fi device within its range (up to 45 meters/147 feet).

You can set a password to restrict access to your Seagate Wireless Plus device. See “Setting a Password” on page 27 to restrict access to your Seagate Wireless Plus device.

Tip: When you have your Seagate Wireless Plus device physically connected to your computer with a cable, wireless is disabled; your files are not visible to others.
