3820TX Tablet Thin Client Software

The 3820TX tablet thin client comes pre-loaded with the following client and application software:

Microsoft Windows CE 3.0 for the 3820TX tablet thin client. The Windows CE 3.0 operating system starts automatically when 3820TX tablet thin client is turned on.

Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Browser

Microsoft Terminal Services RDP client

Citrix ICA client

Software keyboard — Used to enter keyboard information.

Calligrapher — Used to recognize handwriting and enter it as data.

3820TX PCMCIA Network Card Drivers Software

The 3820TX tablet thin client communicates with the network through wireless or wired access to the LAN. To do this, 3820TX tablet thin client uses PCMCIA cards and the corresponding network driver software provided by the PCMCIA card manufacturer. The 3820TX tablet comes pre-loaded with network drivers installed for the following wireless LAN cards.

Cisco Aironet 340/350 Wireless LAN PC Card

Proxim Orinoco Silver/Gold Wireless LAN PC Card

Agere Short Antenna Wireless LAN PC Card

Proxim RangeLan Frequency Hopping Wireless LAN PC Card

Enterasys Roam About Wireless LAN PC Card

LinkSys Wireless LAN PC Card

The 3820TX tablet thin client also works with many other wireless LAN, wireless WAN and wired LAN PC Cards. To use these cards the appropriate software drivers must be installed.

Server Minimum System Requirements

To access server applications from 3820TX tablet thin client, the server must include:

Microsoft NT4.0 Terminal Server Edition

OR

Microsoft Windows 2000 Server

Citrix MetaFrame or MetaFrame XP — for ICA connections from 3820TX tablet thin client
