Connecting the Network Cables

The GA621 has one SC port that can be used with either 62.5/125-Micron multi- mode fiber or with 50/125-Micron multimode fiber.

1.Prepare an appropriate cable.

Table 2-3 lists the cable characteristics for connecting to 1000BASE-SX port.

2.Connect one end of the cable to the GA621 Fiber Gigabit Ethernet Card.

3.Connect the other end of the cable to an SC Ethernet network port.

4.Turn on power to the PC and then to the connected device.

5.Verify that the link LEDs is on, indicating that there is a good link to the card.
