Option A

1)Insert the round end of the external power supply into the port on the rear of your drive.

2)Plug the large end of the external power supply into a properly grounded electrical outlet.

3)Slide the switch to the "EXT" position.

Warning! Use only the AC adapter supplied with your specific LaCie drive. Do not use a power supply from another LaCie drive or another manufacturer. Using any other power cable or power supply may cause damage to the device and void your warranty. Always remove the AC adapter before transporting your LaCie drive. Failure to remove the adapter may result in damage to your drive and will void your warranty.

Option B

1)Insert the round end of the USB Power Sharing Cable into the port on the rear of your drive.

2)Insert the USB end of the power sharing cable into an available USB port* on your computer.

3)Slide the switch to the "USB" position.

Important Note: *In order for the USB Power Sharing Cable to draw a sufficient amount of power from your computer, it must be plugged into a powered USB port.
