Using the Asanté Ethernet Options Control Panel

Configuring Duplex Mode

To change an Asanté 10NIC-PCI adapter’s setting:

Click on the button corresponding to the slot containing your

 

card.

Click on the appropriate button to select either half duplex

 

or full duplex mode.

 

Full duplex is recommended if you are connected to an

 

Ethernet Switch.

 

If you are connected to an Ethernet Hub, select half duplex

 

mode (default setting).A hub cannot support full duplex

 

mode.

To change the setting for another Asante card, click on the

 

button for that slot and then set its duplex mode.

Close the control panel and restart the Macintosh com-

 

puter for the changes to take effect.

NetDoubler™ Installation and Operation

The Asanté 10NIC-PCI adapter supports free operation of Asanté’s NetDou- bler Network Acceleration Software.

NetDoubler contains special code that detects the Asanté 10NIC-PCI adapter and automatically enables the software on Power Macintosh computers without the need for a NetDoubler serial number.

For installation instructions, refer to the NetDoubler diskette included in your Asanté 10NIC-PCI adapter package.
