Removal and Replacement Procedures

Drive Bay Configuration

The server supports a maximum of ten internal drive bays (four are for removable media devices; six are for hot-plug hard drives). The removable media device bays contain an one-third height, 1.44-MB diskette drive; a one-half height IDE CD-ROM drive; and two empty half-height drive bays. The empty bays may be used for a DVD-ROM drive, tape drive, non-hot-pluggable hard drive, any SCSI device or a 2-bay SCSI drive cage, including a DLT tape drive. A DLT tape drive or the 2-bay SCSI drive cage require both empty half-height drive bays.
