Replacing the Modem
CAUTION: Before you perform any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
1.Follow the instructions in Preparing to Work Inside the Computer.
2.Follow the instructions in Removing the Modem, as applicable.
NOTICE: The modem connectors are keyed to ensure correct insertion. If you feel resistance, check the connectors for proper alignment.
3.Connect the modem cable to the new modem.
4.Connect the modem to the system board.
Align the modem with the screw hole and press the modem into the connector on the system board.
5.Replace the M2 x
6.Connect the Mini PCI antenna cables, if applicable.
7.Replace the modem/Mini PCI/wireless cover and tighten the screws.
