Removing the Display Assembly

CAUTION: Before you begin the following procedure, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.

NOTICE: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Before Working Inside Your Computer) before working inside the computer.

1.Follow the instructions in Before Working Inside Your Computer.

2.Remove the hinge cover (see Removing the Hinge Cover).

3.Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard).

4.Remove the two M2.5 x 8-mm screws from the bottom of the display.

5. Remove the two screw covers from the back of the computer; then, remove the two M2.5 x 8-mm screws from the back of the computer.

6.Remove the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the top side of the computer.

7.Disconnect the antenna cables from the Mini-Card.

8.Loosen the captive grounding-wire screw.

9.Disconnect the display cable, using the pull-tab.

10.Dislodge the display cable from the display cable channel.
