The ExpressCard slot

The computer is provided with an ExpressCard slot. This slot is 54 mm wide and is suitable for ExpressCard/34 and ExpressCard/54 expansion cards.

To insert an ExpressCard, push it into the slot until it locks into place. Make the connection you require (for example, network connection).

Also consult the documentation for the relevant card.

To remove the ExpressCard, first push it gently inward. This releases the catch, allowing the ExpressCard to be removed.

The Memory Card Slot

The computer is provided with a combination slot. This slot accepts Memory Sticks, MS Pro, SD (Secure Digital), and MMC (Multimedia card) cards.

Insert these cards into the slot holding the printed side upwards. After the card is inserted correctly into place, it is recognized as an additional drive. The data on the card can then be accessed.

To remove it, simply pull the card out.

Never remove the card while data is being read from or written to the card!

DO NOT use the “Safely Remove Hardware” function to remove the memory card! In this case always restart the system to reactivate the combo slot.
