A.G.P. is a high-performance bus for graphics-intensive applications, such as 3D applications. A.G.P., while based on the PCI Local Bus Specifications, Rev 2.1, is independent of the PCI bus and is intended for exclusive use with graphical display devices. A.G.P. overcomes certain limitations of the PCI bus related to handling a large amount of graphics data with the following features:
