Extras

Extras (Figure 45) are features of the AVStream driver that are new, not fully defined, or subject to change. Extras may also include workarounds to unresolved issues that may be resolved at a future time. Extras should be expected to change more frequently than other aspects of the driver, and may not be shown for all versions of the drivers.

This control is a workaround to an apparent problem in DirectShow

Timestamping

with capture of CC to AVI files. As a practical matter, always use the
