Inserting a CD or DVD Disc

To install or use programs from a CD or DVD disc, follow these steps:

1Place the disc into the optical drive with the label side up.

2When the icon for the disc appears on the desktop, the disc is ready to use.

Note: Some DVD discs are two-sided, and some may not have a label on either side.

Ejecting a Disc

To eject a disc, drag the disc icon to the Trash. You can also press the Media Eject (C) key on an Apple keyboard or the F12 key on other keyboards. If you can’t eject the disc, quit any applications that may be using the disc and try again. If that doesn’t work, restart your computer while holding down the mouse button.

Important: Don’t place anything on top of your computer. Placing objects on top of your Mac mini may keep a disc from ejecting.

Playing DVD Discs

To play a DVD, insert the DVD disc. DVD Player opens automatically and starts playing the disc.
