A.No, you can only plug the scanner into your Enhanced Parallel Port (printer port).

Q.Do I need to let the scanner warm up?

A.Yes, the scanner needs to warm up at least thirty seconds before scanning, but you will always receive a message advising you of this when it is necessary. If you see no such message, then the scanner is already warmed up.
