1Make sure the PC Card is installed and connected to the network as described in Chapter 1.

2In the Main group double-click Control Panel.

3On the Control panel, double-click the Network icon and click the Add Adapter tab.

a If Windows NT networking is not installed, click Yes to install Windows NT networking.

The Windows NT Setup window appears.

b Enter the directory name where the Windows NT installation files are located.

cClick Do Not Detect.

Windows NT does not fully support Plug and Play and cannot detect the LAN PC Card.

dClick Continue.

The Add Network Adapter window appears.

4Select Other Requires disk from manufacturer from the list.

5Click Continue.

6Insert LAN Installation Disk 1 into the floppy drive. Enter the name of the drive (for example, A:\) and click OK.

7Select 3Com Megahertz LAN PC Card from the list and click OK.

The LAN PC Card files are copied to your PC.

8Click OK to accept the default settings for the LAN PC Card or enter new settings.

9If networking is already installed, enter the IP Address if prompted, and reboot the PC to activate the network.

10If networking is not installed, select the transport protocol (NWLink IPX/SPX compatible transport, TCP/IP protocol, NetBEUI protocol) in the Windows NT Setup Window.

a Click OK.

b If prompted, enter the directory name where the NT installation files are located.
