Chapter 4 Configuring the Adapter

Security

Selecting Security from the menu on the left side of the Utility window gener- ates the “Security” screen.

Data Encryption If the wireless network to which the Adapter is connecting has data encryption, click in the check box to activate

Authentication Select the type of authentication (Open or Shared) running on the encrypted wireless network to which the Adapter is connecting.

WEP Key Setting In this section of the screen, select the WEP (Wireless Encrypted Privacy) key type (Hex or ASCII) and length (64 bits or 128 bits). Then, enter the keys needed to join the encrypted wireless network in the appropriate text boxes.
