If feed errors such as jams and/or double feeds occur, open the document feeder cover and clean

the feed roller by wiping it with a damp cloth.

Caution: Clean the roller after scanning an original written with material that doesn't stick well to the sheet, such as pencil lead. Otherwise the next original may be soiled.
