Component/Progressive Scan Connections

The GTP-870HD features four Component video in- puts for connection to DVD players, digital CableTV boxes, digital satellite receivers, HDTV receivers/ tuners, and more. Component video is the best qual- ity analog connection method to an HDTV display.

Special Note on Progressive Scan DVD Players

If you want to use the GTP-870HD’s built-in video scaling capability, you MUST set the output of your Progressive Scan DVD player to standard 480i resolu- tion. Extended Definition (480p) and High Definition analog sources connected to the component video inputs are “bypassed” (i.e., sent to the component output) as is—NOT scaled.
