Shows the disc number being selected.

2Title/chapter/track indicators Displays title/chapter, or track number.

3Time display

Shows the cumulative or remaining time of the track or disc, or the total disc time.

4Disc indicators

Indicator the type of the disc set in the selected tray. When a DVD VIDEO or Video CD disc is set, “DVD” or “VCD” is indicated. When an Audio CD is set, there is no indication.

5Function indicators Active functions light up.

1VIDEO OUT - VIDEO jack (13) Outputs a composite video signal.

2VIDEO OUT - S-VIDEO jack (13) Outputs an S-video signal.

Note that this jack does not feed correct signals when you make the unit feed RGB signals. See “How to make the unit feed the RGB signals” on page 14 for details.

3AV OUT with COMP. - Y/C switch(14)

The standard 21-pin SCART connector outputs video and audio signals. You can select the video signal type by the COMP.-Y/C selector, as well as the S-VIDEO/RGB setting (see “To connect to a TV with the SCART connector” on page 14 for details).

4Region code label (12) Shows region code number.

5AV COMPU LINK jacks

These jacks are provided for use in the future. They are currently not used.

6AUDIO OUT jacks (LEFT/RIGHT) (13, 15) Outputs stereo analog audio signals.

7DIGITAL OUT jack(s) (COAXIAL/OPTICAL) (16) Outputs digital audio signals. You must select the signal type correctly according to the external device connected to via the Preference display.

8 AC IN connector (16)

Connects to the wall outlet using the suppplied AC power cord.
