Using Navigation Menus

Playing Data Disc

[MP3] [WMA] [JPEG]

You can play a MP3, WMA, CD text or JPEG disc by using the menu.

Select the unit viewing channel (or the AV input) on the TV. Press [DVD].

ªUsing Playback Menu (except JPEG files on

While the menu screen is displayed

1)Press [34] to select “All”, “Audio”, or “Picture” and press [ENTER].

To display/exit the screen Press [TOP MENU].

ªUsing Navigation Menus

2)Press [3421] to select the group or audio/picture content and press [ENTER].

To enjoy listening to WMA/MP3 contents while showing a

JPEG image on the screen.

Select a JPEG file first, and then select audio contents. (The opposite order is not effective.)

¬To exit the menu

Press [MENU] (PLAY LIST) or [RETURN].

Using the submenu [MP3] [WMA] [JPEG]

1)While the Navigation Menu screen is displayed, press [FUNCTIONS].

2)Press [34] to select the submenu and press [ENTER].

You can erase “¢” to search for the titles starting with that character.

You can enter numbers with the numeric buttons.

3)Press [1] (cursor) to select “Find” and press [ENTER].

The search results screen appears.

4)Press [34] to select the content or group and press [ENTER].

Notes:

[MP3]

This unit is not compatible with ID3 tags (l 42).

If you play MP3 track that includes still picture data, it will take some time before the music starts playing and the elapsed time will not be displayed during this time. Even after the track starts, the correct play time will not be displayed.

MP3 files must have the extension “.MP3” or “.mp3”. [WMA]

You cannot play WMA files that are copy-protected.

WMA files must have the extension “.WMA” or “.wma”. [JPEG]

Use a digital camera that meets the DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) standard. Some digital cameras have functions that are not supported by the DCF standard like automatic picture rotation which may render a picture un-viewable.

Do not alter the files in any way or save them under a different name. JPEG files must have the extension “.JPG”, “.jpg”, “.JPEG”, or “.jpeg”.

This unit cannot display moving pictures, MOTION JPEG and other

such formats, still pictures other than JPEG (i.e. TIFF) or play the associated sound.

Formats that can be used are IS09660 level 1 and level 2 (except extended format).

Finalize the disc after recording. A disc that is not finalized may not be played back.

This unit is compatible with multi-

root

session (l 42) but if there are a lot of sessions it takes more time for play to start. Keep the number of sessions to a minimum to avoid this.

WMA is a compression format developed by Microsoft Corporation. It achieves the same sound quality as MP3 with a file size that is smaller than that of MP3.

Searching by a content or group title [MP3] [WMA] [JPEG]

Place the cursor on the group title to search a group, or place the cursor on the content title to search content.

While the submenu screen is displayed

1)Select “Find”. (l above)

2)Press [34] to select a character and press [ENTER].

Repeat to enter another character. Lower case is also searched.

Press [6] or [ 5] to skip between A, E, I, O and U. Press [2] to erase a character.

Naming folders and files

At the time of recording, prefix folder and file names with 3- digit numbers in the order you want to play them. Depending on how you create files, they may not play in the

order you numbered them or may not play at all.
