Select the aspect, conventional size screen (4:3) or wide screen (16:9), when connecting to your TV set.

2 Press the SELECT ( , ) button to select aspect item and press ENTER button.

"16:9": Select when a wide screen TV set is connected. (Factory preset) Select this if the disc video type is 16:9. (For wide screen TV's, set the screen mode to "Full".)

"4:3 LETTERBOX": Select when a conventional TV set is connected.

Wide video with an aspect ratio like 16:9 is played back on the screen with black bands on the top and bottom.

"4:3 PAN&SCAN": Select when a conventional TV set is connected. Wide video with an aspect ratio like 16:9 is played back on the screen with either both sides or one side cut off.

If Pan & Scan or Letterbox is designated beforehand on the disc side, the disc designation takes priority.
