Connecting the hi-fi system/­ AV receiver

1Connect the »Optical Out« socket on the television to the corresponding socket of the device with an optical digital cable (digital audio signal);

or

connect the »SPDIF« socket on the television to the corresponding socket of the AV receiv- er with an RCA cable (digital audio signal).

Setting the audio format

You can select whether the audio signal out- put via the »Optical Out« or »SPDIF« socket should be in the PCM or AC2 format.

1Open the menu with »MENU«.

2Select the menu item »SOUND SETTINGS« with »V« or »Λ« and press »OK« to con- firm.

– The »SOUND SETTINGS« menu appears.

3Select »Audio Output Setup« with »V« or »Λ« and press »OK« to confirm.

– The menu appears.

4Select the »SPDIF output« with »V« or »Λ«.

5Select the preferred audio format (»PCM« or »Dolby* D«) with »<« or »>«.

Note:

7If you wish to output the audio only via a multi-channel amplifier/AV receiver, set the option »TV Speaker« to »Off« in the menu.

6Press »MENU« to end the setting.

Playing the audio signal via the ­ HiFi system

1Connect the »AUDIO OUT L R« sockets on the television to the corresponding socket of the AV receiver with an RCA cable (digital audio signal).

Note:

7If this function is not activated, the audio sig- nal is transmitted to the HiFi system/AV re- ceiver (connected to »AUDIO OUT L R«).

1Open the menu with »MENU«.

2Select the menu item »SOUND SETTINGS« with »V« or »Λ« and press »OK« to con- firm.

– The »SOUND SETTINGS« menu appears.

3Select »Audio Output Setup« with »V« or »Λ« and press »OK« to confirm.

– The menu appears.

4Select the line »Audio Out« with »V« or »Λ« and press »<« or »>« to activate the audio output (»On«).

5Select the line » Audio Out Status« with »V« or »Λ« and select the option »Fixed« or »Ad- justable« with »<« or »>«.
