G-CODEProgramming

Programming is now easier than ever; simply enter the G-CODEnumber found in the programme scheduling pages of newspapers and magazines.

G-CODEnumbers are numbers assigned to programmes listed in the TV programme schedule found in newspapers and TV guides. When these numbers are entered, the numbers are converted to actual programming.

G-CODEis a registered trademark of Gemstar Development Corporation. The G-CODEsystem is manufactured under license from Gemstar Development Corporation.

Preparations

Confirm that the VCR is on.

Confirm that the TV is on and the VCR viewing channel is selected.

Insert a video cassette with an intact erasure prevention tab.

Set the VCR/TV switch E to [VCR].

Check that the clock is set to the correct time. If it has not been set, refer to page 10.

Operations

1 Press the G-CODE button K to display the menu for entering the G-CODEnumber on the TV.

2 Press the Numeric buttons 2 to enter the G-CODEnumber.

It is also possible to check the

number with VCR display without

PROGRAMME SET :OK

END:G-CODE

appearing the On Screen Display.

 

If you have entered the wrong number, press the CANCEL button ; then enter the proper number. An alternative method is to press the Cursor button (2) S and then enter the proper number.

3Press the OK button T.

The entered programme appears on the display.

The starting time and the ending

time appears alternately each

5 seconds on the VCR display.

Confirm that the number corresponds to the right

programme. If the display looks like this and Á on the VCR display flashes on and off: select the desired programme position using the CH button :, then press the OK button T.

To make any corrections, use the DATE button 9, the ON button D, the OFF button C and the SPEED button B the same way as described on page 20.

4Press the Cursor button (1) S to select the Category.

Then, select the desired category by pressing the Cursor buttons (3421) S.

Alternatively, you can set the category on the Navigator list. (See page 23 for details.)

This function is activated when [JET NAVIGATOR] is set to [ON]. (See page 13.) When [JET NAVIGATOR] is set to [OFF], procced to the step 6.

6Press the TIMER (REC) button A to switch the VCR over to the timer recording standby mode.

When [JET NAVIGATOR] is set to [ON], the

[PROGRAMME IS COMPLETE. REMAINING PROGRAMME 49.] message appers. (See page 13.)

When [JET NAVIGATOR] is set to [OFF], the [PROGRAMME IS COMPLETE.] message appears. (See page 13.)

Check that [Á] is lit on the VCR display.

If it is flashing, check the timer recording details again. (See page 21.)

Notes:

When the G-CODEnumber is used for programming, the recording time may be slightly longer than the actual programme time.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 if [PROGRAMME IS INCOMPLETE.] appears.

When programming two or more programmes, repeat steps 16.

The procedures for checking and cancelling a timer programme are the same as on page 21.
