E30, E60, E90, E120, E180 and E240 tapes

Set the length of tape you are using so the unit can show the correct

E195:

E195 tapes

remaining time (lpage 25).

E260:

E260 tapes

 

E300:

E300 tapes

 

 

 

NTSC INPUT SELECT

AUTO:

NTSC [4.43] and [3.58] signals

Select the colour TV system used to record NTSC signals.

If the tape has not recorded correctly, select 4.43 or 3.58.

 

4.43:

NTSC 4.43 signals

 

3.58:

NTSC 3.58 signals

 

Some programmes on NTSC 3.58 system cannot be recorded

 

correctly at this position.

 

 

NTSC PB SELECT

on PAL TV: TVs that can receive PAL signals

Select the colour TV system of the TV used to play back a tape

4.43:

TVs that can receive NTSC 4.43 signals

recording NTSC signals.

3.58:

TVs that can receive NTSC 3.58 signals

 

 

 

JET NAVIGATOR (lpage 20)

ON:

Jet Navigator data automatically registered.

 

OFF:

Data not registered.

 

If you select “ON”, “OSD REC” is set to “OFF” automatically.

 

 

 

DELETE NAVIDATA

NO

 

See page 20 to delete data on a single tape.

ENTER:

If you choose this position, press [ENTER] to delete

 

 

all the Jet Navigator data.

 

 

 

OSD REC

ON

 

You can record the present date and time on the same screen

OFF

 

which the picture is recorded.

If you select “ON”, “JET NAVIGATOR” is set to “OFF”

 

automatically.

 

 

 

OSD (lpage 25)

AUTO:

Messages appear on the TV for about 5 seconds

 

 

when you press [DISPLAY].

 

OFF:

Messages do not appear.

 

 

 

OUT [VHS/DVD] (lpage 12)

VHS:

Only VHS outputs.

You can set the unit so that the output is automatically switched to

MANUAL:

VHS output and DVD output are manually switched.

the device which starts playback.

AUTO:

VHS and DVD are automatically switched depending

 

 

on the manipulation or the unit operation.

 

 

 

DUBBING NORMAL AUDIO (lpage 42)

L:

To record the sound from left channel

Select the audio channel to be recorded on the Normal audio track

R:

To record the sound from right channel

when dubbing a bilingual DVD.

 

 

 

 

 

MONAURAL

ON:

To record the normal sound during a NICAM

Select the sound mode. (For NV-VP31GN only)

 

broadcast or if the stereo sound is distorted due to

 

 

inferior reception conditions.
