A Deactivating Video Navigation

If you do not want to store program information, you can deactivate the Video Navigation function.

1 Access Main Menu screen Press MENU.

2 Access Video Navigation screen

On the front panel:

MAIN MENU

Press CH 5∞ to move the

FUNCTION SET

highlight bar (arrow) to

TUNER SET

“VIDEO NAVIGATION”,

INITIAL SET

then press OK.

REC LEVEL CTL

=VIDEO NAVIGATION

 

On the Remote:

Press %fi to move the

highlight bar (arrow) to “VIDEO NAVIGATION”, then press OK or #.

3 Deactivate Video Navigation

The detailed program information currently selected (start time, end time, recording length, recording speed, program title, and category)

If there are no title and category entered, “TITLE” and “CATEGORY” will be shown.

Remaining time on this tape, calculated based on the current recording speed (SP/ EP) selected on this VCR.

The currently selected program whose detailed information is shown below on the screen.

If the currently selected program and the current tape position are different while tape is not running, the current tape position on the tape will be shown by “*”.

Each time you press OK or #, Video Navigation turns “ON” or “OFF”.

4 Return to normal screen

Press MENU.

NOTES:

If you press NAVIGATION while Video Navigation is deactivated, “NAVIGATION: OFF” appears (with “SUPERIMPOSE” set to “ON”:  pg. 56, 57).

Video Navigation playback is possible only with the tape recorded on this VCR.

To record the date and time as the program title in this VCR's memory, make sure the VCR’s clock is set correctly before recording.

To record the program information in this VCR’s memory, you must record each program for over the minimum recording time; 5 min for the SP mode and 15 min for EP mode.

Video Navigation may not work properly for some tapes.

If the VCR finds two tape numbers in one tape while playing back or searching for the beginning of a program, the tape will be assigned just one number (smaller number) when you remove the tape.

The program information is stored in this VCR’s memory. Should the memory in this VCR be damaged and the program information be lost, it is impossible to restore that information.

After recording a tape on this VCR, write the tape number on a label and affix the label to the tape in order to allow you to find the tape by its number.
