⬛ S-VHS ET	This function allows you to record on VHS tapes with S-VHS picture
ON	quality. Tapes recorded using this function can be played back on a VCR
	equipped with the S-VHS ET function. The S-VHS indicator lights up on
OFF
	the front display panel when "S-VHS ET" is set to "ON".
	NOTES:
	● Before recording, make sure that “VIDEO CALIBRATION” is set to “ON”. (☞ pg. 37,
	38)
	● You cannot activate the S-VHS ET function...
	– while recording is in progress.
	– while timer-recording is in progress.
	– while Video Calibration (☞ pg. 38) is in progress.
	● S-VHS ET does not work with S-VHS tapes.
	● To keep the highest quality recording and playback pictures over a long period of
	time, S-VHS recording on S-VHS tapes is recommended.
	● Use of high grade tapes are recommended for S-VHS ET recordings.
	On some tapes, picture quality will not improves even if the S-VHS ET function is
	used. Check the recording quality before you start important recordings.
	● You can play back S-VHS ET recordings on most of S-VHS VCRs and of VHS VCR
	equipped with SQPB (S-VHS QUASI PLAYBACK) function. (Notice some VCRs are
	not compatible with this function.)
	● While playing back a tape recorded with this function on some tapes, noise may
	appear. (If playback picture becomes blurred or interrupted, use a cleaning cassette.)
	● During special effect playback (☞ pg. 26), noise may appear. If special effect
	playback is performed frequently on a tape recorded with this function, the tape may
	be damaged and picture may be deteriorated.
⬛ RETURN POINT	Returning point for Playback, Repeat Play or Series Playback can be set
	to tape end or recording end. (This VCR considers 1-second unrecorded
TAPE END: Playback stops at the
	portion as the recording end.) When the returning point is reached,
end of tape.

	The setting you have made is kept in memory. Even if the VCR is unplugged or the

⬛ DAY/TIME INSERT	When this function is set to "ON", you can record Month/Day/Year and
ON	clock time display (☞ pg. 61) with your picture.

	● To use this function, be sure to set "ON SCREEN (REC)" to "ON". (☞ pg. 37, 38)
	● The superimposed operational indicators on the screen will also be recorded.
	● The setting you have made is kept in memory. Even if the VCR is unplugged or
	the power failure occurs, it will resume every time you turn on the VCR.

	● This function is not available during Audio Dubbing or Insert Editing.
⬛ REC SAFETY	Usually, you can only record onto a cassette with its record safety tab
	intact. When the this function is set to “OFF”, recording can be done
ON
	onto a cassette whose record safety tab is removed.

	NOTES:
	● The setting you have made is kept in memory. Even if the VCR is unplugged or
	the power failure occurs, it will resume every time you turn on the VCR.

	● When "REC SAFETY" is set to "OFF", playback does not start automatically when
	you insert a cassette with its record safety tab removed. (☞ pg. 15)
⬛ DAILY T. RECORD	When you set daily timer recording, you can use one cassette repeatedly.
NORM	If you select "AUTO REW", the VCR rewinds tape each time after timer
	recording and the timer mode is engaged.
AUTO REW
	If you select "NORM", the VCR turns off after timer recording. Rewinds
	the tape or replace it, and engage timer recording standby mode
	manually.
