SET PARENTAL CONTROL

The PREFERENCES page provides number of setup items relating to the playback of DVD- Video discs and miscellaneous settings.

To reach the PREFERENCES page, use

the CURSOR buttons to highlight the PREFERENCES line on the MAIN PAGE. Then, press the PLAY/ENTER button.

NOTE: The PREFERENCES page cannot be accessed during disc playback.

To return to the MAIN PAGE, use the CUR-

SOR buttons to scroll down and highlight the MAIN PAGE line. Then, press the PLAY/ ENTER button.

The following instructions describe each ad- justment item on the PREFERENCES page and the available settings. The default settings for each item are shown in the illustration.

VIDEO OUT

This setting specifies whether the Component Video outputs or the SCART video outputs are active.

NOTE: This setting has no effect on the S-Video or Composite video outputs. These outputs are active regardless of this setting.

Y PR PB: Use this setting to activate the Com- ponent Video connections on the back panel.

SCART: Use this setting to activate the SCART connector on the back panel.

AUDIO

Some discs contain multiple languages for their audio content. This preference setting speci- fies a preferred language if it is available on the disc. If the preferred language is not avail- able on a disc, the disc’s own default language will be used.

Options for preferred languages include: ENGLISH, FRENCH, SPANISH, CHINESE, and

JAPANESE.

NOTE: The default setting can be overridden during playback from the DVD’s start-up menus or using the AUDIO button on the re- mote.
