SETUP

The RDV-1060 provides a number of operat- ing preferences that can be set by the user. These include language preferences, display options, hardware configuration settings, and speaker settings to match the unit to your sys- tem. These preferences are set from a series of screens that are displayed in the On-Screen Display (OSD) on the TV monitor.

How to Set Preferences

This section explains the general procedure for changing preference settings. See the in- dividual topics that follow for instructions on changing specific settings.

Press the OSD button to show the SETUP MENU/MAIN PAGE.

The screen gives access to four pages of settings (GENERAL SETUP, SPEAKER SETUP, AUDIO SETUP, PREFERENCES). Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight a settings page, then press the PLAY/ENTER but- ton to display the page such as the following example.

SET DIGITAL OUT

The left side of the screen lists the items that can be adjusted. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight an item. The list of avail- able settings for that item appears on the right side of the screen.

Press the CURSOR buttons to move to the right side of the screen. Use the CUR-

SOR buttons to highlight the desired setting. After making the desired setting, move back to the left side of the screen using

the CURSOR buttons.

When finished with a setup screen, scroll down to the MAIN PAGE item at the bot- tom of the left column and press PLAY/ ENTER to return to the MAIN PAGE.

Exit setup mode by selecting EXIT SETUP on the MAIN PAGE. Press PLAY/ENTER to return to normal operation.

NOTE: The GENERAL SETUP, SPEAKER SETUP, and AUDIO SETUP pages can be accessed at any time, even during playback. The PREF- ERENCES page can only be accessed when playback is stopped.

The following sections of the manual provide detailed instructions for each of the four groups of setup items.
