The sound loses stereo effect when you play a

VIDEO CD, a CD, or an MP3.

•Set [AUDIO] to [STEREO] hy pressing AUDIO (page 52)

•Make sure the unit is connected properly

The surround effect is difficult to hear when you are playing a Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEG audio sound track.

•Make SLIl"t'the sound field function is on (page 42).

•Check the speaker connections and settings (page 19, 92)

•Depending on the DVD, the output signal may not be the entire 5 1 channeh It may be monaural or stereo even if the sound track is recorded in Dolby Digital or MPEG audio format

The sound comes from the center speaker

only.

•Depending on tile disc, the sound may come from the center speaker only

No sound is heard from the center speaker.

•Check the speaker connections and settings (page 19, 92)

The beginning of the sound is cut off.

•Set the Movie/Music mode to "MOVIE" or 'MUSIC" (page 41 ).

•Set the sound field to "A E.D. STD" (page 42)

Operation

Radio stations cannot be tuned in.

•Check that the antenna (aerial) is c(mnectcd securely Adjust the antenna (aerial) or connect an external antenna (aerial) if necessary

•The signal strenglb of the stations is too weak (when tuning ill with automatic tuning) Use direct tuning.

•No st aions have been preset or the preset stations have been cleared (when tuning by scanning preset stations) Preset the stations (page 65)

•Press DISPLAY so that the frequency ap?ears ill the front panel display

The remote does not function.

•There are obstacles between the remote and the unit.

•The distance between the remote and the unit is too far.

•The remote is not pointed at the remote sensor on the unit

•The batteries ill the remote are weak

The disc does not play.

•There is no disc inserted

•The disc is upside down

Insert the disc with the playback side facing down

•The disc is skewed on the disc tray

•The system cannot play CD-ROMs, etc (page 6)

•The region code on the DVD does not match Ihe system.

•Moisture has condensed inside the unit and may

cause damage to Ihe lenses Remove Ibe disc and leave the unit turned on lk)r about half all hour.

The MP3 audio track cannot be played.

•The DATA CD is not recorded in the MP3 lbrmat that conforms to ISO 9660 Level l/Level 2, or Joliet.

•The DATA DVD is not recorded in an MP3 format that conforn> to UDF (Universal Disk Format).

•The MP3 audio track does not have Ihe extension

"MP3."

•The data is not formatted ill MP3 even though it has Ibe extension ".MP3."

•The data is not MPEGI Audio Layer 3 data.

•The system cannot play audio tracks in MP3PRO format.

•The [MODE (MP3, JPEG)] setting has been set to [IMAGE (JPEG)] (page 62).

•If you cannot change the [MODE (MP3, JPEG)]

setting, reqoad the disc or turn the system of L then

on.

The 3PEG image file cannot be played.

•The DATA CD is not recorded in a JPEG l()rmat that conforms to ISO 966(t Level l/Level 2, or Joliet.

•The DATA DVD is not recorded in aJPEG format that conforms to UDF (Universal Disk Format).
