Installing PTZ Devices

The AXIS 240Q supports several PTZ devices. Please see www.axis.com for a complete list of supported devices, and to obtain the correct driver. Follow the instructions below to install a PTZ device:

1.Using an appropriate cable, connect the device to your selected port (RS-232 or RS-485). These ports are available via the D-Sub connector and the I/O terminal connector, respectively. See page 46 for more information.

2.In the setup tools, go to Setup > System Options > Ports & Devices and then select either port RS-232 or RS-485 to configure. See the figure below.

3.Select Pan Tilt Zoom from the Usage drop-down list.

4.Click Upload to install a PTZ driver.

(PTZ drivers are available from the Axis Web site at www.axis.com)

5.Click Port Options... to modify the port settings. The default values correspond to the values specified by the PTZ driver.

6.From System Options > Ports & Devices, select the port configured for PTZ and then select the video source to use with the device.

7.If required, click the Advanced Options button to make further settings and see the online help.
