Rating Settings

The GDV-870 includes a password-protected Parental Control feature that prevents playback of discs based on their MPAA ratings.

To access the Rating Settings menu:

1Press the Setup button.

2Use the /buttons to select Rating, then press the button.

3Use the /buttons to choose from the follow- ing menu items:

Parental Control

Selects the desired rating level.

Use the /buttons to select Parental Control and press Select.

Use the number keys (0-9) to enter your 4-digit password and press Select.

If you have not yet set a password, enter the default password (8-8-8-8) and press Select.

Press Select again to show the list of Parental Control ratings.

Use the /buttons to select one of the follow- ing ratings and press Select:

-1. Kid Safe

-2. G

-3. PG

-4. PG-13

-5. PG-R

-6. R

-7. NC-17

-8. Adult

Playback of movies at or above the selected rat- ing will be blocked.

Set Password

Sets the Parental Control password.

You must enter the default password (8-8-8-8) before you can set your own password.

Use the 0-9 buttons to enter a new 4-digit pass- word and press Select.

Your personal password and the default pass- word will both work to unlock the Parental Con- trol feature.

Notes:

Not all movies are rated.

Write down your password and keep it in a safe place in case you forget it.

If you forget your password, the factory password is 8888.
