Making Connections

Connecting to an Amplifier

(To enjoy the sound advantages of the DVD Player)

Although you can reproduce the DVD Player’s sound from the TV speakers with the connections on page 15, connecting to an amplifier provides you with higher quality dynamic sounds.

To reproduce Dolby Digital surround and DTS surround sound, you need to connect to an amplifier with a Dolby Digital and DTS decoder, respectively.

About

When connected with an Onkyo amplifier via , your DV-SP302 can be controlled using the remote controller supplied with the amplifier.

The function of the upper and lower connectors are the same. Connect to either one.

Connecting only the cable does not make the system operational. You must also connect the analog RCA/ phono cables as well.

Digital connection

If your amplifier has a digital input jack, be sure to connect it to either DIGITAL OUTPUT OPTICAL or COAXIAL jack on the DVD Player.

Analog connection

(necessary for function)

If your amplifier has no digital audio input, or when you use function, make the analog connection.

Note

In the Digital Out setting (page 29), you can select whether the DV-SP302 will output the PCM signal only, the PCM and other signals, or no digital signals at all.
