PLAYING A DVD-VR FORMAT DISC

This unit will play DVD+R/RW discs recorded using the DVD-Video Recording format that has been finalized using a DVD-recorder.

1Insert a disc and close the tray. The menu for the DVD-VR format appears on the TV screen.

2Press to select the track and then press PLAY or ENTER and playback starts.

NOTE:

Unfinalized DVD+R/RW discs cannot be played in this DVD-player. Some DVD-VR discs are made with CPRM data by personal DVD recorders. This DVD-player may not support this disc format created on some DVD recorders, and will display "CHECK DISC".

What is "CPRM"?

CPRM is a copy protection, using encryption technology, so that to only allow the recording of "copy once" broadcast programs. CPRM is an acronym for Content Protection for Recorded Media.

This player is CPRM compatible, which means you can play "copy-once" broadcast programs. CPRM recordings can only be made on DVD+RW formatted in VR mode, and CPRM recordings can only be played on players that are specifically compatible with CPRM.
