What is BD?

BD (Blu-ray Disc or BD) is an optical disc storage media format meant for High Definition audio,video and high density data.

The name Blu-ray Disc is derived from the blue laser used to read and write this type of disc.

It can store 25GB(single layer) or 50GB(dual layer) on a single sided disc. That's 5 to 10times more capacity than a normal DVD.

The BD-ROM format for movie distribution supports three highly advanced video codes, including AVC,VC-1 and MPEG-2.

Will BD Player work with any kind of TV set?

If you are to enjoy the full picture quality of the High Definition from BD then the player should be connected to a 1080 High Definition TV via HDMI connection.

But, our Blu-ray Disc player is also designed to work with the conventioned TV that has either a composite or S-Video input.

What is a 1080 High Definition?

1080 High Definition has a resolution of 1920 pixels x 1080 lines.

HD broadcasts are only available as a maximum of 1080 lines interlaced, while Blu-ray Disc can provide 1080 lines progressively scanned.

What is USB (Universal Serial Bus)?

USB is an external bus standard that supports data transfer rates of 12 Mbps. A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 peripheral devices, such as digital cameras, MP3 players, and removable storage.USB also supports Plug-and-Play installation and hot plugging.

The USB port provides USB 2.0 Full Speed connectivity and also backward compatibility with USB 1.1 (USB 1.0) devices.
